CRM and ERP: Integrations, Clean Data, and the Flow to Invoicing

An ERP keeps the records; a CRM manages the commercial relationship. Problems arise at the boundary: the agent sees a different price than the one in the ERP, the order is manually retyped, the displayed stock is from yesterday, and the invoice is delayed because someone has to move data from one system to another. This topic addresses exactly that middle ground, where the most time and money are lost.

The articles explain what a proper integration between CRM and ERP entails: which system is the source of truth for each data type, what is synced in real-time versus batch processing, how to handle conflicts, and what to do when the ERP lacks a modern API. A separate piece covers data cleansing before migration - duplicates, incorrect tax IDs, incomplete addresses - because migrating dirty data produces a system no one trusts.

You will also find the complete flow from order to invoice and e-invoicing (Peppol BIS 3.0 / EN 16931), identifying where bottlenecks usually occur, plus recommendations for companies keeping their existing ERP (such as SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or Sage) and adding a unified commercial layer on top.
